We were delighted to relaunch the Lyme Bay Ladies Exeter Networking events in Bridport. Co-hosted by our new Bridport Ambassador, Jess Brooks from Bowes Brooks Accountants and her team.
It was a relaxed and social networking session full of positivity and inspiration.
We were treated to a green smoothie and a discussion on Increasing Plant Foods in our Diet
Recent research is showing that gut microbial diversity leads to good health outcomes, and including a minimum of 30 DIFFERENT plant-based foods on a weekly basis helps to feed and nourish this diversity. It also provides essential nutrients and antioxidants to support our health.
A plant-based diet means different things to different people, so just to be clear, you do not need to be fully vegetarian or vegan to follow a plant-based diet.. The goal is to include a minimum of 30 different plant-based foods over the week, as research has shown this supports the growth of beneficial bacteria and short-chain fatty acids, which keeps the gut microbiome happy.
We also discussed – eating the rainbow – see attached photo which you can download.
Helen Ross is a BANT registered Nutritional Therapist specialising in IBS and gut health.
Helen runs The Well Life Lab, a nutrition consultancy which works to find natural solutions for a healthy gut. She looks at resolving food intolerances and getting to the root cause of chronic health issues by regaining balance in the gut microbiome.
Thanks to LBL Karen Hussey from A G Down & WG Potter for providing the great space for us to meet.
As it was such a success and the feedback from you all we will be making this a regular event on the last Friday of the month.
