What a wonderful evening at Axminster Printing – Thank you Jane Rockett. Tucked away down the alleyway off the main street in Axminster is this family run printers and stationers. What a fabulous morning we had at Axminster Country Market This market is on every Thursday from 8:30am – 12pm in the Masonic Hall on South Street. Small local producers and home cooks sell a wide variety of seasonal and tasty food alongside gifts and crafts. You will find savoury food/meals, cakes and desserts of all descriptions, jams & chutneys, fresh eggs, vegetables, fruit, flowers, jewellery, cards, crafts, gifts and art. What a fantastic evening. Despite the heat over 30 ladies made it down to The Pilot Boat for our networking evening. We split into 4 groups. Each group was hosted by a facilitator who made everyone feel at ease and gave them tips on networking, doing an ‘elevator pitch’ and presentation skills. Everyone had a chance to talk about their business and get questions and feedback. One group focused on collaboration – how can we work together. Another great coffee talk held at The Black Dog Tearooms in Uplyme. An hour of coffee, cake and networking followed by an incredibly informative talk from Helen James from Nutriri about setting up a business as a social enterprise. Many of us know and admire the hard work Helen has done in setting up Nutriri and it was wonderful that she was able to share her knowledge and advice on social enterprise and the opportunities and funding that is available out there.
